Principal’s Biography

About Our Principal

Minister Niesha M. Wright was appointed to lead the Highland Park Christian Academy, as Interim Principal, by the Board of Directors in the spring of 2015. She started her teaching career with the academy in 2007 as an upper elementary classroom teacher and soon transitioned to the Middle School Department in 2010, upon its inception. Ms. Wright was instrumental in facilitating the academy’s transition to Middle School by leading the department as Instructional Team Leader. She also helped develop the Middle School curriculum and also served as the mathematics instructor. HPCA is the fourth school Minister Wright has served as a teacher. In 2001, she began her teaching career in Prince Georges County Public Schools, and ended her public school career in the District of Columbia Public School system in the spring of 2007.

Minister Niesha is a certified educator and has been blessed to have taught in the classroom for fifteen years. She received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia, a Master’s of Arts Degree in Teaching from American University in Washington, DC, and is currently working on an Educational Leadership certification in Administration and Supervision at Loyola University Maryland. She loves to share her gift of teaching with others, and has been instrumental in training teachers at both the Elementary and Middle School levels, to better enhance their instructional approach to teaching.

Minister Wright is a disciple of Christ determined to maximize life and walk in God’s ordained purpose. She is a licensed minister of the New Samaritan Baptist Church, located in Washington, DC under the dynamic leadership of Senior Pastor, Bishop Michael V. Kelsey, Sr. Minister Niesha enthusiastically participates in the plan of God for her life by humbly serving as an Armor bearer to First Lady, Elder Sheila Bowens Kelsey, Worship Leader, a member of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry, Social Media Representative, and a School of Ministry Teacher. She looks forward to what the Lord has in store for her as she humbly leads HPCA. Her favorite scripture can be found in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This scripture has fortified and encouraged Minister Wright and motivates her daily to pursue all that God has in store for her.
