About Our Principal

Minister Niesha M. Wright was appointed to lead the Highland Park Christian Academy, as Interim Principal by the Board of Directors in the spring of 2015. In June 2016, Ms. Wright was officially named Principal of the academy.

Minister Niesha is a certified educator and has enjoyed the field of education for 18 years. She started her teaching career with the academy in 2007 as an upper elementary classroom teacher and later joined the middle school instructional team in 2010. Ms. Wright was instrumental in facilitating the academy’s transition to middle school by leading the department as the Instructional Team Leader. She helped develop the middle school curriculum and also served as the Mathematics Teacher. In 2000, she began her teaching career in Prince Georges County Public Schools, and ended her public school teaching career in the District of Columbia Public School system in the spring of 2007.

Minister Wright received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV; a Master’s of Arts in Teaching degree from American University in Washington, DC; an Educational Leadership certification in Administration and Supervision from Loyola University Maryland. She is currently working on a Master’s of Arts degree at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. Minister Wright loves to share her gift of teaching with others, and has trained several teachers at the elementary and middle school levels.

Ms. Wright is a disciple of Christ determined to maximize life and walk in God’s ordained purpose. She is a licensed minister at New Samaritan Baptist Church in Washington, DC. She looks forward to what the Lord has in store for her as she humbly leads Highland Park Christian Academy.
